Fibre
Our organic cotton is grown in India, solely on organic farms that take care of the soil, ecosystem and people by relying on biodiversity and local natural cycles. Organic cotton is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) from the organic fibre source to the spinning of the yarn. GOTS is the leading standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria and is backed by independent third-party certification. We are working on extending the certification to cover the entire textile supply chain. Our wool is supplied by Südwolle, a family-owned German company that has specialised in spinning wool since its foundation in 1966. The wool fibres are sourced from merino sheep in Australia and South America.
Fabric
Merino wool yarn is twisted with organic cotton thread to create warm and breathable knitwear. The fibres are 'top' dyed before being spun into yarn. This process results in beautiful melange colours and a softer hand feel. Each panel is knitted to the shape of the garment which therefore creates less wastage. Panels and trims are attached using a hand-linking machine, resulting in a premium, high-quality garment.
Factory
The knits are produced in close collaboration with one of our longest standing suppliers, a small knitter based in Dongguan, China. We have enjoyed working with owner Robert and his dedicated team, Ceci and Carmen, for over 20 years. Their knowledge, experience and attention to detail is second to none. We are proud to have them as part of our team.
