The flax used to make our linen is grown in France, where the flax plant needs minimal water, energy, pesticides, and fertilisers to grow making it one of the most naturally sustainable fibres. Our cotton is grown, processed and spun in China.
Fabric
A Poetry favourite, our oversized seersucker checked fabric is crafted in a lightweight blend of linen and cotton. By controlling the shrinkage in different areas of the cloth, texture is created. The seersucker name comes from Persian words meaning “milk and sugar” referring to the fabric's distinctive look. The yarn has been cross-dyed, different fibres coloured together which creates unique and tonal colours. Our garments are pre-washed for a relaxed and laundered appearance.
Factory
We have been working with our partners based in China to develop this fabric all the way from the yarn to the finished product. We have been working with Cong and Sunny since 2014 and they have been specializing in linen textiles for generations. Their innovation and impeccable quality mean we can bring our ideas to life and develop special woven fabrics using all-natural fibres.
