Fibre
Our cotton and hemp is grown in India. Hemp has similar properties to linen; it is very strong and softens through washing. It is natural, breathable, absorbs moisture and dye easily, has anti-bacterial properties and is an effective insulator keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. Hemp is a fast and efficiently growing fibre that requires almost no fertilisers and pesticides and very little water. Often called ‘super fibre’, hemp is great for the environment and extremely durable.
Fabric
Clean and modern, our hemp and organic cotton knitwear has a lovely weight and a structured appearance. The blend combines the natural durability of hemp with the softness of cotton, resulting in garments that are both sturdy and comfortable. Yarns are dyed before creating the fabric, which gives them a solid, even colouring. Each panel is knitted to the shape of the garment which therefore creates less wastage. Panels and trims are attached using a hand-linking machine, resulting in a premium, high-quality garment.
Factory
The knits are produced in close collaboration with one of our longest standing suppliers, a small knitter based in Dongguan, China. We have enjoyed working with owner Robert and his dedicated team, Ceci and Carmen, for over 20 years. Their knowledge, experience and attention to detail is second to none. We are proud to have them as part of our team.
