Fibre
Our organic cotton is grown in India, solely on organic farms that take care of the soil, ecosystem and people by relying on biodiversity and local natural cycles. Organic cotton is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) from the organic fibre source to the spinning of the yarn. GOTS is the leading standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria and is backed by independent third-party certification.
Fabric
Our organic cotton yarn has a soft and warm handle which feels almost as soft as our cashmere but with the coolness of cotton. The yarn can be dyed at different stages of production, either dyeing the fibre before spinning (top-dyed) or dyeing the yarn after it has been spun. Top-dyed results in melange colours and yarn-dyed creates solid even colours. Each panel is knitted to the shape of the garment which therefore creates less wastage. Panels and trims are attached using a hand-linking machine, resulting in a premium, high-quality garment.
Factory
The knits are produced in close collaboration with one of our longest standing suppliers, a small knitter based in Dongguan, China. We have enjoyed working with owner Robert and his dedicated team, Ceci and Carmen, for over 20 years. Their knowledge, experience and attention to detail is second to none. We are proud to have them as part of our team.
