An alternative to denim that is wonderfully soft. This indigo dyed fabric is the perfect weight for jeans and trousers that will improve with each wash and wear, lasting many years.
Fabrics made from hemp are similar to linen. The hemp fibre is very strong and softens through washing. It is natural, breathable, absorbs moisture and dye easily, has anti-bacterial properties, is an effective insulator keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. In environmental terms, hemp is particularly good as it grows very easily, and is resistant to pests.
The cotton is grown in India and certified by Organic Cotton Standard which ensures that it has been grown solely in organic farms that take care of the soil, ecosystem and people by relying on biodiversity and local natural cycles.
The fabric is woven using indigo-dyed yarn and then carefully garment-washed to achieve different levels of colour.
The yarn, fabric and garments are all made by our supplier based in Rushan, to the north of Shanghai. The garment factory is powered by solar panels and focuses on producing environmentally-friendly clothing using hemp. We are proud to have worked with this supplier and their team for more than ten years.
