Fabrics made from hemp are similar to linen. The hemp fibre is very strong and softens through washing. It is natural, breathable, absorbs moisture and dye easily, has anti-bacterial properties, is an effective insulator keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter, and is fully biodegradable. In environmental terms, hemp is particularly good as it grows very easily, and is resistant to pests.

The cotton used in this fabric is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), the leading standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent third-party certification of the entire textile supply chain.

The fabric is woven using indigo-dyed yarn and then carefully garment-washed to achieve different levels of colour.

Both the fabric and the garments are produced by a single supplier which is focused on producing planet-friendly clothing using hemp.

The dyes and chemicals used to process the fabric are all EU approved. The garment factory is powered by solar panels, and has recently been audited as part of our membership of the Fair Wear Foundation. We are proud to have worked with this supplier for more than ten years.
