Fibre
Hemp has similar properties to linen; it is very strong and softens through washing. It is natural, breathable, absorbs moisture and dye easily, has anti-bacterial properties and is an effective insulator keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. Hemp is a fast and efficiently growing fibre that requires almost no fertilisers and pesticides and very little water. Often called ‘super fibre’, hemp is great for the environment and extremely durable.
Modal is a cellulosic man-made fibre created from natural wood pulp. The wood pulp is purified and transformed into cellulose which then is extruded into yarn. Modal feels similar to silk, it is soft breathable and has a great drape. Our modal is sourced in Turkey.
Our cotton is grown and processed in Turkey.
Fabric
Our blend of cotton, modal, and hemp fibres in denim fabric offers the perfect combination of comfort and durability. The cotton provides softness and breathability, while the modal enhances the fabric’s drape and adds a silky texture. The hemp contributes to extra strength of the fabric. After spinning, half the yarns are yarn-dyed with indigo dye and half left undyed in ecru. The typical denim cloth is created by weaving the indigo-coloured yarn with undyed ecru in a 3/1 twill weave structure which makes the specific look of a denim cloth. Then the fabric is sewn into a garment and indigo dye is washed out to achieve the desired softness and worn look.
Factory
The garments are sewn and finished in Turkey. We are happy to have partnered up with an excellent laundry that uses environmentally-friendly denim finishes.
