Big Skies

Exploring the relationship with nature and abstraction, the early work of Dutch artist Piet Mondrian influenced this transitional story stepping from summer to autumn. Adding softness to the linear blocks of colour, we reference the confident pastel work of American conceptual artist Jennifer Bartlett. Colours are uplifting with neutrals interrupted by pops of red and pink. Silhouettes are easy and loose with big sleeves a feature, plus plenty of gathers to create shapes and drama. Gauzy open-stitch knits layer with light cotton tops and twill trousers. Textured coatigans shrug over cotton dresses; deep indigo denim shades contrast with the light weight of the fabric; and clean, practical macs ensure style when it showers.
